Nielsson Conversations III / Hey! So! -

25.10.2015 - 25.10.2015

The Nielsson Company (with special guest, Evan Hughes) would like to invite you to witness PERFORMANCE! Two highly trained individuals will come together to discuss and entertain! There are many possibly ways for this to go, and they will probably devolve one way or another. The two performers plan to filter through the many possibilities to deliver something of QUALITY and VALUE, or something equally verbose. FILTER!

“Can you remember the last time you thought to yourself, “this is a good use of my time”? Can you remember what motivates you? I’m sorry sir, but you’re going to have to go away and start again from the back of the line. This is for serious entries only”

Participating artists: Evan Hughes
Sunday, October 25th, performance starts at 8pm

The Nielsson Conversations I/II is a series that will attempt to implement and create theory about collaboration. With the fictive character J. Nielsson for a guide, artists are invited to investigate their own narratives, and to create new ones, as well as to examine the space where that overlaps. One of Nielsson’s first tenants is that “space” holds the key to our human design. Through dance, tension, and close documentation, the Nielsson Conversations aim to create installations and performances that know themselves, and that take their places among a network of always more complicated narrative. see here:

Joseph Hernandez, current dancer with the Semperoper Ballett, created his first piece (We, Tender) for the Royal Ballet of Flander’s “Coupe Maison” series in 2012. He went on to create two works for Les Ballets De Monte Carlo; Sawdust and Rust (2013), and Persistent Sequence (2014). He founded the Nielsson Collective with installation artists Yannick Cosso and Jordan Pallages in 2012, focusing their work on the research of narrative and collaboration, and the place these concepts have in contemporary art.
