In his work Malte Struck uses the extreme metal and punk culture as a referential source for involvement with subcultural stereo types. Materials such as pigs blood and gauze bandages refer back to a traditional habit of manhood and will to combat, death and desperation, such as flags that are assembled from smaller works. He infuses an ideologic hermetic system, exaggerates, relativizes, compresses and breaks down without revealing a specific attitude. Through this strategic reframing and reinterpretation of apparently “occupied” fields he asks questions that addresses society as a whole.
